BREAST AUGMENTATION
Breast augmentation (augmentation mammaplasty) aims to improve the size and shape of the breasts, and is achieved through the use of breast implants.
There are two types of breast implants according to their shape:
- Round: generally used for cosmetic augmentation of the breasts.
- Form-stable: they have a teardrop shape (more projection at the bottom). They are usually used for breast reconstruction.
The incision or approach to put the implant into the breast will be performed in areas that allow the scar to be hidden, such as the inframammary fold or along the edge of the areola (peri-areolar incision). The implant position may be on or under the pectoralis major muscle. Taking into account the anatomical characteristics of the patient and the type of implant, the most appropriate incision and position will be chosen.

PREOPERATIVE
In preparing for the surgery, all our patients should undergo a preoperative study for their safety. This study consists of a blood test with coagulation and an electrocardiogram. In addition, a breast ultrasound or mammogram is required.
POSTOPERATIVE
An overnight stay in the hospital is recommended.
At discharge, you will be able to walk and live a relatively normal life from the day after surgery, avoiding physical exercise. It is recommended to wear a bra without underwire for the first months. Sun protection is essential at least for the first year.
BREAST REDUCTION
Breast reduction is achieved through surgical techniques whose objective is to decrease the amount of breast tissue, and therefore its weight. This procedure aims to improve the aesthetic aspect, in addition to improving postural hygiene. There are different reduction techniques, which must be personalized for each patient. The breast reduction technique is associated with the elevation of the areola and nipple, to achieve a better aesthetic result.

GYNECOMASTIA
Gynecomastia is enlargement of the breast in the male. It is usually associated with hormonal changes (common during puberty) or obesity, although it is also related to certain drugs. Corrective surgery can be performed by liposuction or by excision of the glandular tissue and / or excess skin. Sometimes excision techniques are also used to reposition the areola and nipple. The use of one or more of these techniques is personalized in each patient
